It pays to look closely at Tarrega's fingerings and ask yourself what effect they create.
In this case, there is the potential for a very light and fluttery effect that's created from the slurs and slides.
Look REALLY closely and you'll notice there's even a slur from the 4th string to the 1st string! This is something that guitarists today would normally avoid.
