The history of the Space Wolves is as savage and enduring as Fenris itself. From their early days as one of the original Legiones Astartes, the Space Wolves were known for their ferocity and cunning in battle. When the Emperor of Mankind discovered their Primarch, Leman Russ, on the death world of Fenris, the Space Wolves fully embraced their role as the Emperor’s executioners. During the Great Crusade, Russ led his warriors to countless victories, their brutal style of warfare becoming legendary. This reputation only grew during the Horus Heresy, where the Space Wolves played a key role in the burning of Prospero, confronting the traitorous Thousand Sons and their Primarch, Magnus the Red. Although the Heresy left deep scars on the Chapter, they fought fiercely to preserve the Imperium in its darkest hour. After the Heresy, the Space Wolves faced new trials. With Leman Russ vanishing into the Warp on a mysterious quest, the Chapter was left without its Primarch. Despite these hardships, they stood strong during the Great Scouring, hunting down traitors and driving Chaos back into the Eye of Terror. Their refusal to follow the Codex Astartes, which divided the remaining legions into smaller Chapters, led to tensions with the rest of the Imperium. Yet, the Space Wolves remained steadfast, unwilling to abandon the unique traditions of Fenris or their fierce independence. Throughout the millennia, the Chapter weathered countless wars, from massive ork invasions to fending off the influence of Chaos, while protecting their homeworld from all manner of threats. As the galaxy plunged into the Era Indomitus, the Space Wolves were once again tested when Magnus the Red unleashed a full-scale invasion of Fenris during the 13th Black Crusade. Though the battle was brutal and nearly brought the Chapter to its knees, they prevailed. The arrival of the Primaris Marines marked a new era for the Chapter, and though the Space Wolves were initially wary of these newcomers, they eventually accepted them into their ranks. With Logan Grimnar at the helm and the prophecy of the Wolftime looming large, the Space Wolves continue to fight across the stars, their ferocity undimmed, awaiting the return of their lost Primarch to lead them once more in the defense of the Imperium.
