We're back! Let's kick this off with an acrylic paint review. Today I'm testing the A2 acrylic paint by Chroma. This heavy body paint is a "top of the range" acrylic before hitting expensive artist-quality paints. Does it blend? Does it feel good to use? Let's find out.

Hello and welcome to The Gold Coast Art School channel!

I've been away for a long time because running a school is stressful. But I've done a bunch of bookings and prep, and now I can get back into making art tutorials for you. Today, I'm testing the A2 acrylic paint range from Atelier. This is kind of "the best" acrylic paint for students you can get before tipping the scales into purely artist-quality paints.

A2 paints come in a range of sizes and colours. The most common I've seen are the 120ml tubes (4 Fl Oz). But they also have a limited range of colours in 1 litre bottles, and in their tiny 20ml tube set. I've also seen online that you can get tubs of this paint too, but I haven't seen that in the stores (which is why I didn't mention it!)

The 12 tube set cost $25.80, which I think is decent value, although the downside of these kinds of sets is that you're always going to be using specific colours more than others. So I'd recommend perhaps buying additional tubes of something like white if you're keen on this set.

See what you think about these paints, and if this would be one you'd like to buy and try for yourself! I'll be using these for future videos so please subscribe to stay in the loop.

➤ A little more about The Gold Coast Art School:
Since 1995, we've been teaching creatives how to successfully paint and draw (even when they think they can't!) We have classes for beginners and intermediates, and welcome advanced artists too. Many of our students love coming to our school not only for the depth of knowledge our tutors bring to each session, but for our relaxed and welcoming community feel. Our adult art students usually use oil paints, but we encourage any medium, including acrylics, pastels and watercolours. Check out our social media and website for info, or email/call us any time to chat to Jess and book your spot in our next class!
