like any good confused genzennial in need of guidance from a higher power, i have costar on my phone, and it told me the other day to "try not to get lost in the futile pursuit of authenticity." i feel that way with this channel sometimes, cuz i wonder how i can stay "authentic" to videos i want to make while i am also painfully aware of the need to monetize my passion to be able to keep doing it. but i said, screw it, imma listen to costar, and imma just make this slander video because wtf does it even mean to be "authentic"? (it really is a futile pursuit) if i wanna make a slander video, i should just make a slander video, so i did and here ya go :)
but still, i think about this stuff. i don't want to be one of those channels that just hangs on to a fad or makes stuff just to get views, but at the same time if my channel isn't "good enough" then i don't get to do youtube as much because i still need to eat and have a roof over my head. that's true of any passion, right? if you like to draw or write or sing, if you want to be able to do that thing the most you possibly can, you need to figure out how to get that thing to make you money. which i think is sad, right? cuz the world would be better off if we had more artists and less bankers, but that's not what our society is set up to reward.
anyway, these are just some random thoughts i had floating in my head. i think this is a pretty universal feeling, and i think one way to fight against the dread and horror of our capitalist system is by realizing we're not as alone as we think we are.
also sorry i know i keep talking about this topic and beating it like a dead horse but it's my life right now and it keeps me up dude
