The City of Ekurhuleni has offered a lifeline to residents struggling with paying municipal accounts that have been overdue for more than 12 months. Residents can now apply for a 70% debt write-off for rates and taxes as the city tries to reduce its debtors' books and alleviate household debt. Ekurhuleni finance MMC Jongizizwe Dlabathi has more.
