Connecting on-site cameras to the cloud can be a challenge.
In this tutorial, I show you a workaround that allows you to connect on-site cameras to the cloud so you can securely stream video to Milestone XProtect on AWS without needing a physical server on the premises.
If your business keeps its recording servers at a different location than your cameras but you still want to securely record to the cloud, this tutorial is for you.
OVERVIEW
I will walk you through the process of setting up Milestone XProtect on AWS and connecting your Axis cameras using Tailscale. In order to connect your cameras and have them show up in AWS securely, I will show you how to create a virtual recording server using Axis camera application (ACAP) and a VPN service called Tailscale.
Tailscale will allow us to create secure connections between devices and servers regardless of where they are using already known credentials (google 365 etc.)
