Hamas freed six hostages hours after releasing two Israeli women earlier in the day, one of whom was Mia Schem, a French-Israeli woman who was abducted from the Supernova music festival in Israel and shown in the first Hamas video of a hostage speaking from captivity. Israel released 30 Palestinians from Israeli jails as part of the exchange, but not without incident as the bus carrying the newly released Palestinian detainees was hit with tear gas fired by Israeli forces, according to a witness.
