In real life, the NKP Berkshire (2-8-4) was one of the most successful steam engine type built by Lima for the express freight train, NKP #759 and her sister NKP #765 were preserved and used for excursion services. Imagine one of the famed trains of CNJ (Central Railroad of New Jersey) The Blue Comet was also preserved (there were 3 train set built for this train's section), do you think a Berkshire can beat a Pacific's top speed (100 mph) in a race? 🧐
We note that the designed top speed of NKP Berkshire was 70-80 mph but inside a simulator like Trainz or Railworks, since the ware and tear of the gear at high speed cannot be simulated, a steam engine can excess its design speed without encountering any malfunction of the gear as long as a player keeps letting it go. 😅
The Blue Comet is a DLC for TANE (Trainz: A New Era)
The NKP Berkshire is a product by K&L Trainz
