Anacortes Seahawks Football vs Bellingham (1983)
Today we are pleased to present some vintage AHS Football footage from 1983. The game pitted the Seahawks against the Bellingham football team. It was a tough game, as usual with Bellingham. The Hawks battled to the end. By relying on running back Todd Harris (on both sides of the ball), the 'Hawks were able to change the course of the game. His two touchdowns kept them in contention; then quarterback Dave Lowell sealed the game as he rifled a 20-yard touchdown pass to Morgan Finseth. The final score: 20 - 16.
Coach Dick Andrew led the Seahawks through a season filled with adversity. Following the win against Bellingham, the 'Hawks would then lose their next 4 games. Coach Andrew, however, was still celebratory about the 1983 squad, saying, "It was exciting to see our athletes bounce back from this difficult situation and, in the last three games, play our best of the season."
