Azure Bastion ช่วยให้เรา connect Azure VM ผ่าน Azure portal ได้ตรงๆ จึงไม่ต้องเปิด port RDP หรือ SSH จาก Internet เข้าไปยัง VM
เรา connect Bastion host ด้วย port 443 ส่วนเขาก็จะ connect VM ด้วย RDP (port 3389) หรือ SSH (port 22) อีกทีไปทางด้านหลัง
Bastion host (บางคนเรียกว่า Jump-server) ถูกออกแบบมาให้ทนต่อการโจมตี
เขาถูก deploy ลงใน subnet เฉพาะที่มีชื่อว่า "AzureBastionSubnet"่ ใน virtual network เดียวกับ Azure VM ที่เราต้องการ connect ไปหา
