You can install it directly from the VS Code Marketplace.

Requirements for installation:

The SonarLint needs a Java Runtime (JRE) 8 or 11.

Step 1: First we need to install the following extension: (please install if not installed)
Language Support for Java(TM) by Red Hat (For Java we need to install an extension)

SonarLint extension
