In this video, Keith Barker covers how to add a frame-relay switch inside of GNS3. He’ll explore various options to do this, including using an iOS image to create a router and using the frame-relay object inside of GNS3. Keith will talk through several considerations and then provide recommendations on what’s best for your situation.

There are two basic methods to add a frame-relay switch inside of GNS3. The first is to take an iOS image and create a router, then have that iOS emulate the frame-relay service provider network. The second option is to take advantage of the frame-relay object inside of GNS3 itself.

What determines which you choose is based on the type of frame-relay network you’re trying to create, and Keith will outline what those parameters look like and how to decide which route you’ll take. After that’s taken care of, he’ll walk you through the various steps you’ll need to check off to finish setting up the switch.
