From all over Europe, the Nazis now deport men, women and children to the death camps in the East - since the beginning of 1942, the Nazi administration has had a monstrous plan for the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question". At the same time, the Allied conquest of airspace over the Third Reich begins - with the first area bombardments of German cities. The first attacks of German submarines off New York hit the United States completely unprepared. Shortly thereafter Japanese submarines bombard the US west coast near Santa Barbara. Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe, the Japanese are committing such bestial war crimes as the Bataan death march, in which more than ten thousand prisoners of war are killed. But the USA soon have the opportunity to retaliate - in the Battle of Midway they teach Japan a devastating defeat.
