🔥Most people know that the biceps flex the arm at the elbow. However, most don't know that it also flexes the shoulder joint. This is because the long head of the biceps travels across the head of the humerus to insert on the scapula, so when it contracts it abducts the humerus in addition to flexing the elbow.

💪 In this exercise, we take advantage of that fact to strengthen the long head of the biceps. After performing a normal bicep curl to about 90 degrees, then bring your elbow up until your upper arm is 90 degrees to your body. You don't need a lot of weight to make this effective, especially if you have a history of shoulder injury like I do. Proper form and rep intensity are much more important than the amount of weight you're moving.

💯With this exercise you'll not only get a better workout of the biceps by increasing the amount of contraction, but you'll also be preventing future shoulder injuries by strengthening that biceps tendon.
