Dr. Neil Gascoigne is a philosopher, teaching at Royal Holloway, University of London. His research interests include metaphilosophy, skepticism, Euro/pragmatism, conceptual engineering/change, religious belief, and sex/gender distinctions.
Dr. Gascoigne is the author of several books, including "Richard Rorty: Liberalism, Irony, and the Ends of Philosophy" (2008); "Tacit Knowledge" (2013) co-authored with Tim Thornton; "Scepticism" (2014); and "Rorty, Liberal Democracy, and Religious Certainty" (2019). He has contributed chapters to the Cambridge Companion to Richard Rorty (2021) and the Blackwell Companion to Rorty (2020).
