In this video, Dr. Xeturah Woodley discusses racial battle fatigue and the exhaustion she is experiencing now with all that is happening in the USA around racial violence, gender inequality, and oppression. She shares her struggles with bias and discrimination as a higher ed professor and information from her dissertation about the experiences of other Black women faculty in New Mexico. Dr. Woodley challenges her students to "get their higher degrees" so they can take her place in teaching classes about race, class, and gender. She challenges her White colleagues to begin taking her place on the "front lines" of the struggle to end racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression.
