What
If you get close to your opponent and press P+G you can perform a normal (high) throw.
Throws will work on guarding opponents, but will not work if your opponent is crouching or performing a striking move.
They are most useful when your opponent is guarding.
Exercise 2-A:
Character: Any
Dummy: Any
Recording 1: Guard High
Recording 2: Guard Low
Recording 3: Attack, then standing Guard
Playback: Random
2-B Performing a low throw (Recommended rank: 1st Dan or above)
What
Low throws allow you to throw a crouching opponent.
Like high throws, they are not effective when an opponent is attacking.
Low throws are most effective after your opponent tries an attack that leaves them in a crouching position afterward, or during a side-roll recovery, which temporarily puts them in a crouching position.
Exercise 2-B:
Character: Any with a low throw (ie Pai)
Dummy: Any with a punishable sweep (ie Pai)
Recording 1: Sweep, then standing Guard (ie Pai's 1K+G, then 5G)
Playback: Random
