In this session, we will discuss the benefits—and challenges!—of English for Special Purposes courses and will examine how ELT educators can support students employed or seeking work in hospitality and tourism. The presenter will explain how to structure a hospitality/tourism ESP course that strengthens fluency, leadership skills, confidence, and intercultural awareness. Activities to enhance workplace problem solving and decision making, role plays to improve job-specific communication and vocabulary, and a collaborative project to promote intercultural understanding in a hospitality/tourism context will be shared.
