Roland MH:
The rebound is reduced through the 2 mesh layers, but it is still a bit bouncy. It triggers well and it causes a bit noise, so it is not as quiet as a one layered mesh head. It is only available in size 6,8,10,12 and 14 inches.

The Remo Silent Stroke:
1 ply mesh head with a white transparent surface. This mesh head is definitely one of the quietest heads on the market and triggers really well. Although it has a lot of rebound and the feel it provides is different from a real head. Remo silent strokes are available in sizes from 8 til 20 inches.

The drum-tec basic: is a 1 ply mesh head. It is really transparent, which makes it possible to see every part inside the drum. The price for this head is unbeatable. It triggers well and is really quiet. The rebound level is not as heavy as known from other 1 ply heads, but still more than noticeable. Black and white basic heads are available in every size from 6-24 inch.

The drum-tec pro:
Sturdy 1 ply head, which does not feel like a mesh head at all. The mesh itself is really thick and causes actual noise. It is even possible to use it as practice head without sound module. The trigger sensitivity has to be increased. The feel is amazing it is like playing a real drum head. There is almost no unwanted rebound. This head is available in all sizes from 8-22 inch.

The drum-tec design series:
Competitor to the Roland MH head. It is a 2 ply head which offers the most accurate trigger results. It is a tiny bit noisier than the Roland head and therefore it causes less rebound and feels more realistic. It is almost untransperant and available in all sizes from 8-22.

drum-Tec reel feel.
A heavy 3 ply mesh head. The rebound is almost 100% comparable with a real head and the head does not cause more noise than the 2ply version. The triggering is good, but a tiny bit less sensitive than it would be with the 2ply head. It is not possible to look through it and it is available in sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20. The price is higher compared to other heads, therefore it is probably indestructible and lasts forever. Sadly, there is no 13 inch version.

In the end it is up to you which head you prefer. Some people like them to be quiet and less expensive, others like a realistic rebound and don’t want to recognize any difference to a real head.
