For the majority of people, there is only one main reason to buy an electronic drum set. Namely noise reduction! They don’t want to disturb others when playing the drums. Sadly, most e-drum kits are still too loud to be played in an apartment and no one has warned them about this before buying an e-drum set.
The most critical part of almost every e-kit is the kick pad. The impact noise of the beater travels through the floor and is audible from underneath. But other components can be a problem too.
Almost all electronic drum manufacturers are very good at hiding the fact that their drum kits are not nearly as quiet as advertised.
