We are continuing on from yesterday’s post here, so if you didn’t catch that one go back and take a look! Yesterday we strengthened the hip flexor in its lengthened position. Today we are going to strengthen in its shortened position. Which one is more important? Both.
If you are saying, “But I’m so tight and I really just feel better when I stretch”... have you tried strengthening your hip flexors? If the answer is no try this for a while and see how you feel. If you want to get the most bang for your buck you need to strengthen the muscle throughout its entire range of motion. This is important for all people. We have found it to be especially impactful for those who are hypermobile. So if you have an extra bendy friend be sure to share this with them, too!
