It's Chopin's birthday today but I wanted to instead perform for you a Ukranian composer Lysenko's Valse Melancolique - inspired by Chopin, in support for my Ukranian friends and colleagues and the people. He is regarded as the founder of the national composers' school, and is the first Ukranian piece I had played when I was 11 in Kiev. Hoping for peace to come as soon as possible.
