I always wondered what Chopin would have composed if he was still alive today. So when I began experimenting with AI I realized his works were used in the training of the music I had generated. To give him the credit he deserves and to play a brand new piece inspired by him, I created the Chopin Regenerated AI Prelude as part of my Classical Regenerated AI Initiative.

The initiative is a tribute to legendary composers who have shaped Western Classical Music, and to embrace technology in a way that amplifies human talent, instead of replacing them.

Chopin is a legendary composer who inspired me to pursue the piano as a career at age 7 when I played his Waltz in B minor. Since then I played almost all his major works. You can watch me play his Concerto no. 2 at age 11 with orchestra:    • Chopin Concerto No. 2 - Live Performa...
His Fantaisie Impromptu at age 10:    • Age 10: Chopin Fantasie Impromptu - A...

I also recorded 2 of his Piano Sonatas: http://bit.ly/StreamChopin

(The end of the middle of this AI Prelude is inspired this Sonata where he uses both hands in unison. You can watch me it play during my masters at Royal Academy of Music in London:    • Chopin Sonata No. 2 Mvt. 4 - AyseDeni...   )

Of course I played most of his miniatures including Waltzes, Nocturnes, Mazurkas, Impromptus, Etudes and many more! He also inspired my own compositions, including miniatures I wrote which are very romantic:    • Aurora's Waltz by AyseDeniz Gokcin | ...

I tried my best to learn how to play the piece. The process included noting down 806 notes from audio file, practicing for hours to learn to play it, and working to create a meaningful interpretation. I also fixed a few spots in the composition but mostly left it as untouched as possible, to represent the piece authentically and for you to make comparisons.

Of course, I will always prefer Chopin's original works, but this project is about creating a new repertoire while crediting the masters and having some fun with technology!

I also did all the audio production (all live performed by me), editing the video and creating the visuals!
