STATIC NAT & STATIC PAT
======================
Static NAT is typically used when you are hosting some sort of server on your internal network & you want it to be reachable over the Internet.
Unlike NAT overload, Static NAT works in both directions as it's nature in Cisco is bi-directional. Now In some vendors like Fortigate, it's not Bidirectional.

The Static entry of NAT of the full IP protocol stack is referred to as Static NAT, while a Static NAT entry with specific TCP or UDP port numbers is referred to as Static PAT aka Port Forwarding.

Now static PAT is even more commonly used as it does not take up the whole IP protocol stack (All ports), we do it when we have multiple services running inside our organization on separate servers.
