Nitin Gadkari, minister of Road Transport & Highways, has said that several commercial and passenger vehicle manufacturers will offer discounts for buying new vehicles against the scrapping of older vehicles with a valid Certificate of Deposit.owing to this, auto majors are likely to offer a 1.5-3.5% discount to buyers who scrap their old vehicles to buy a new one
In the context of the upcoming festive season, these discounts are expected to further boost automobile sales and further incentivise the Centre’s Scrappage Policy.
