Welcome to Acrylic Arts Academy! 🎨 In today’s step-by-step acrylic painting tutorial, we'll show you how to create a haunted house scene under a moonlit sky—perfect for Halloween or whenever you’re feeling spooky! 👻 Whether you're a beginner or just looking for some Halloween art inspiration, this tutorial will guide you through every step to create an eerie mansion painting with glowing windows, a spooky fence, and bats flying in the moonlight.
Materials Needed:
Acrylic Paints: Lamp Black, Cerulean Blue, Titanium White, Orange, Lemon Yellow
Brushes: Flat brush, Filbert brush, Liner brush, Round brush
Sponge: Slightly damp for blending
Canvas: Any size works great!
Water cup, Palette, Paper towels
Steps Overview:
Background Blending: Use a sponge to blend Lamp Black, Cerulean Blue, and Titanium White on the canvas. Keep the center light for a glowing moonlit effect and blend outward for a dark, smooth transition.
Moon Painting: With a Filbert brush and Titanium White, paint a soft, glowing moon in the center of the canvas, blending the edges to enhance the glow.
Haunted Mansion: Use a flat brush to block in the mansion's basic shapes with Lamp Black, creating tall spires and angular details for a spooky look. Add intricate edges and fine details using a liner brush.
Adding Eerie Details: Paint windows with Orange and Lemon Yellow to give them a glowing, abandoned look. Use Lamp Black to add contrast around the windows for extra spookiness.
Fence & Trees: Paint a rugged fence with uneven planks using a liner brush, adding blue highlights to reflect moonlight. On either side of the mansion, paint twisting, spindly trees for that haunted vibe.
Flying Bats & Finishing Touches: Add bats around the moon using a liner brush and black paint, varying sizes for depth. Finish by adding highlights to the landscape and final spooky details to your haunted house.
