Importing alignment line to ESurvey CADD. You can create Cross Sections and Longitudinal Sections in ESurvey CADD. If you import the alignment line representing the center point of all the cross-section, then you can create the plan of the project, let it be road, rail or canal project, by importing alignment line you can create respective plan using ESurvey CADD.

Hello everybody, welcome to a video tutorial on how to import alignment lines in ESurvey CADD and populate Cross-section data along the alignment.

If you have an alignment line in CAD and if you want to populate cross-section data, you can do it in 2 ways.

Import alignment to ESurvey CADD or Export Cross Section data to CAD and then import cross-section data within CAD using ‘IAL’ command within CAD Package.
In this video you will learn how to import the alignment line in ESurvey CADD and exporting the cross-section to CAD is explained in one of the next videos.

Open the drawing having alignment line in CAD Package. Select the ‘Export Alignment’ option from the ‘Road Design’ Submenu of the ESurvey CADD menu. Select the alignment line. The alignment will get exported.

Open ESurvey CADD, Select ‘Align Plan’ from ‘Main’ Menu. Click on the ‘Import’ button to import the alignment line. Then click ‘align CS’ bottom In the Import alignment tab. In the ‘Plan’ tab, you can note that all the cross-section data available in the project are populated along the alignment.
