In this video, the evolution of the 15 states in the US with the highest number of deaths from Covid-19/Coronavirus. Data on Covid-19 deaths in the US refer to the period from March 10, 2020 to January 7, 2021.
Total Covid deaths as of January 7, 2021 are 365,495 across the US.
The top state for total deaths is New York with 38,683 followed by Texas with 29,645 and California with 28,552. Other states such as New Jersey, Illinois, Georgia, Ohio and Tennessee are also in the top 15.
In the chart below you can see the distribution of Covid-19 deaths in US by area: South, West, Northeast, Midwest and Other.
