In this video the timeline from 1900 to 2021 of the most spoken languages in the world.
In 2021, the most spoken language in the world is English with over 1.3 billion people speaking it. It is followed by Chinese Mandarin with over 1.128 billion and Hindi in third place with almost 646 million.
As suggested by some comments in the previous video (here link: • The most Spoken Languages in the Worl... ) the flags have been changed following the international indications.
This figure includes people who speak one or more languages other than their native language. Definition of Language: A set of conventions (phonetic and morphological, with respect to form, syntactic and lexical, with respect to meaning) necessary for oral communication and written expression between individuals belonging to an ethnic, political, social community, consecrated by history, the prestige of the authors, the consensus of the members of the community.
