I bring to your attention a review of several articles on the contribution of the Neanderthals to the gene pool of modern people, as well as on their blood groups with the Denisovans.
Content:
00:00 Introduction
00:12 Quantification of the introgression of Neanderthals into the heritability of complex traits of Homo sapiens sapiens
09:53 Neural network and archaic admixture in modern people
10:54 Blood groups of Neanderthals and Denisovans
In a recently published work, the authors, using the well-established genome-wide search for associations (GWASs) for 405 different traits, tried to characterize the effect of Neanderthal admixture on the heritability of complex traits in Europeans and to determine trends in the direction of the influence of introgressed variants on these traits. And also to understand how the introgression of the Neanderthals could contribute to adaptation to a non-African environment.
In another scientific work, which was published in the same year, the authors reported on the search for adaptive regions of an archaic impurity in modern humans using a convolutional neural network.
In another study, the authors analyzed the blood types of Neanderthals and Denisovans to trace the origins of current human diversity and discuss aspects of the health and vulnerability of archaic populations. For this, previously published high-quality nuclear genomes from three Neanderthals and one Denisovans were used.
