(Re-upload with fixed music) There's no two ways about it: I spent 1.5 hours doing something that AI can do for me - with better results! - in less than 30 seconds. If anything, this video shows you how people used to remove backgrounds from images in ancient times.

While I think it's nice to see how it's done by hand, there's no reason to do it this way in 2024, even if you're a Linux user like me and can't run Photoshop with its AI background removal tools. First of all, there's stuff like BackgroundRemover or rembg that does run on Linux and it's 100% free.

Secondly, all you need to do is google something like "crop from background" and pick any of the myriad free web-based AI tools available to do the job. In the first few minutes of this video, I show you how to do it with remove.bg. For all intents and purposes, this is really all you need to watch.

As I said, google "remove image background" or "crop from background" or something similar and you can remove backgrounds from images via AI. In the video, I use this tool:

https://www.remove.bg/

It crops one image for you for free, from there on in it costs 90 cents per image or you can pick one of the affordable yearly plans.

Apart from that, just tinker with any other tool out there, there's plenty.
