TOM ROBINSON BAND - The Summer Of 21
An updated version of "The Winter of 79" recorded remotely by members of the current Tom Robinson Band during June 2020, following the cancellation of our UK tour in May. Our backline tech Mark Dyde had just been discharged from hospital following a health crisis and Lee Forsyth Griffiths suggested we all re-record Mark's favourite song as as a way of sending him love and moral support. Jim Simmons helped update the lyrics then co-ordinated the remote sessions - recorded separately by Lee, Adam Phillips (guitar), Andy Treacey (drums), Jim (keys) and myself on bass and vocals. Andy did this mix in his home studio, and I assembled this video from still photos shot by Mark at The 100 Club, London (in 2017). Get well soon Mark - we look forward to going back out on the road with you - and seeing all the Castaways again - in the Summer of 2021!
