William E. Oberndorf | UCSF Medal Recipient
We commend William “Bill” Oberndorf, for his longtime leadership in raising funds to support UCSF’s mission in research, care delivery and graduate health sciences. He served as chair of the UCSF Board of Overseers from 2011 to 2020 and was co-chair of UCSF: The Campaign, a multi-year fundraising initiative that garnered nearly 160,000 donors who contributed more than 280,000 gifts to raise $6 billion to support UCSF.
Bill is chairman of Oberndorf Enterprises LLC, a holding corporation he established for his family’s interests in 2012. He also serves as chairman of the American Federation for Children, which seeks to bring about K-12 education reform across the country.
