Jackie Speier | UCSF Medal Recipient
We honor Congresswoman Jackie Speier for her steadfast advocacy for women’s equality, LGBTQ rights and the disenfranchised. She has dedicated her life to eliminating government corruption, protecting whistleblowers, eliminating sexual assault in the military and working to strengthen the national and economic security of the U.S.
After 40 years in public office, she has returned home to San Mateo County to address childhood poverty. She founded the Jackie Speier Foundation and seeded it with $1 million from her campaign funds. Together with the county, Jackie has embarked on an ambitious effort to aid Medi-Cal infants born in San Mateo County by providing a $300 per month baby bonus for three years.
