The American pioneer of feminist and performance art, Carolee Schneemann, died aged 79 in March 2019. Although renowned for her radical performance-based works, Schneemann described herself as 'a painter who had in effect enlarged her canvas'. Always seeking to challenge societal taboos, among her best-known pieces is Interior Scroll, 1975, a performance during which she drew a scroll from her vagina and recited from it. The panelists discuss Schneemann's legacy and share their personal relationship with the artist and her work.
