In this weeks video we're starting another exciting #brewwithus project but this time in partnership with the wonderful Utopian Brewing who are based in Devon.
Utopian specialise in making traditional lager style beers using ingredients that are from the UK! This approach has pushed them right to the top of the UK lager scene and we feel that the care and attention they have put into sourcing the perfect combination of hops and malts for each style means they are truly doing great things!
We have been given the recipe for Utopian's Premium British Lager, which features a special malt developed for Utopian by the wonderful folks at Warminster Maltings. Along with Fuggles and East Kent Goldings for the hop additions, all this combines to make a wonderful Helles style lager for easy drinking in the approaching spring sun!
In the first of 4 videos we learn from Jeremy Swainson, Head Brewer, all about the best way to get the most from your mash using a stepped mash approach. Be sure you tune back in next week for part 2 and 3 where we will be talking through fermentation and learning a bit more about the brewery and it's values form one of the owners, Richard Archer.
