Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations lets you refinish your cabinets in just a few simple steps.
The Cabinet Transformations Kit includes four ounces of Krud Kutter cleaner, a bond coat and protective top coat.
Before you begin to paint cabinets, measure them to make sure you have enough product.
Then, remove the cabinet doors, drawers and hardware. Use painter's tape to cover any areas that you want to protect from paint, like adjacent walls.
Next, clean your cabinets with the Krud Kutter solution. Use a damp cloth to remove any remaining residue.
Now, it's time to apply the cabinet paint, which is called the bond coat.
It's a good idea to elevate doors by placing them on plastic pyramids. This will allow you to apply the cabinet paint and allow the doors to dry with less mess.
Paint the backs of the cabinet doors and allow to dry for two hours. Once the backs are dry, flip the doors over and paint the fronts. Repeat that process to apply the second coat of cabinet paint.
After the bond coat is dry, it's time to apply the protective clear coat. Brush it on in a slow and smooth motion, being careful not to over brush.
Allow the clear coat to dry for 12 hours before reinstalling your cabinet doors.
