This is not merely a montage of clips limited to my own portfolio. This is a short trailer that showcases my distinct style as a Creative Video Editor, using clips from my favourite films and latest work
I’ve always found the “editors” showreel a tricky one to define.
A showreel includes a montage of clips, however:
(A) The editor didn’t shoot those visuals;
(B) The editor didn’t direct those actors; and
(C) The editor didn’t dress those sets, nor the costumes.
Editing is the intangible tool of filmmaking. The invisible art.
The art of editing is its ability to show the viewer something -- to “CUT” and connect it to something else that creates new Meaning, Understanding, and Feelings.
