Zach is back with one of our favorite questions: IS IT WORTH IT? Today he's checking out a classic, the Roland TB-303, an analog bass-line synth that is currently valued for resale around $2,000-$3,000. The 303 was integral in the creation of acid and techno music, though it's distinct sound has a presence across many genres of music, often paired with other Roland classics like the TR-808 or (seen in this video) TR-606. The TR-303 is not the most intuitive synthesizer, and the budget-level reproductions we compare it with here (the Behringer TD-3 and Roland TB-03) are true to form.
