The Chrome Android Theme setting is set to System Default. If your phone is working in dark mode, then Chrome will automatically camouflage to dark. If the phone's skin is in light, then Chrome will be light theme mode.
But, we have the option to choose the theme irrespective of the mobile phone default settings.
Here are the steps to enable dark mode on Chrome Android:
1. Launch Google Chrome for Android
2. Tap on 3 dots menu for more options
3. Select Settings from the list
4. Scroll down to Themes tab and tap to open
5. Select the 'Dark' option from the list
6. Relaunch the browser and experience the dark theme skin in Chrome Android
Here are the steps to enable light theme on Chrome Android:
1. Launch Google Chrome for Android
2. Tap on 3 dots menu for more options
3. Select Settings from the list
4. Tap on the Themes tab to open
5. Select the 'Light' option radio button
6. Relaunch the browser and experience the light theme skin in Chrome Android
The dark or light theme can be chosen based on your preference. However, it's said that dark mode saves the battery life and reduce the strain on eyes especially in dark room or at the night time. Hence, dark mode is also known as Night mode.
