I added 1/3 cup of sugar and a package of gelatin.
Apple Pie filling to freeze: makes 6 pints (2 pies)
6 pounds of apples
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 TBL lemon juice
peel and dice apples. Mix all ingredients and let sit for 30 minutes. Then bring to a simmer until just thickened. Scoop 6 cups of filling into each gallon freezer bag and freeze.
