Today, we’re taking you on a journey through one of Virginia’s most iconic destinations during fall – Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park! My wife and I couldn’t resist the call of the beautiful fall colors this season. We had an amazing time soaking up the vibrant colors of nature and to top it off, we wrapped up our trip with some fantastic wine tasting at Glen Manor Vineyards.
One of the best ways to experience fall in Virginia is on Skyline Drive. This 105-mile stretch runs through Shenandoah National Park, offering 75 scenic overlooks, each one more stunning than the last! It’s an absolute dream for photographers, painters, and anyone who loves the outdoors.
We stopped at a few overloorks along the way, like the Jewell Hollow Overlook! Every view gave us a unique perspective of the Blue Ridge Mountains blanketed in fall hues. If you’ve never seen it in person, you’ve gotta put this on your To-Do List!
After taking in all the beautiful views from Skyline Drive, we made our way to Glen Manor Vineyards, just a short drive from the park. Situated in Front Royal, Glen Manor is known for its incredible wines and scenic location right at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We couldn’t think of a better way to end our day.
As soon as we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and introduced us to their selection of wines. We learned that Glen Manor’s winemaking philosophy is all about capturing the unique flavors of the Blue Ridge – and believe me, you can taste it!
We tried a few varieties, including their [mention any favorite wine from the tasting]. Each one had a unique flavor profile, and you could really feel the passion they put into each bottle. Plus, with views like these, you’re getting a taste of Virginia’s terroir in every sip.
Heading home to Maryland, we couldn’t stop talking about what an amazing outing this was. From the unforgettable views of Shenandoah to the rich flavors at Glen Manor, this was the perfect fall getaway. If you’re looking for a weekend escape that combines nature and great wine, we can’t recommend this experience enough!
