Access for All in Elkhart Community Schools
Through the PATINS Project’s AEMing for Achievement grant, our Specialists provide select districts with intensive, friendly, and direct assistance to increase student achievement. The focus of the grant is to determine a process to provide Accessible Educational Materials including need, acquisition, and implementation through the lens of Universal Design for Learning.
District wide change doesn’t happen overnight. Elkhart Community Schools has been a part of the PATINS AEMing for Achievement grant for three years. Over this time, they have had weekly meetings with PATINS staff to develop an action plan to bring accessibility to all classrooms. The PATINS Project provided their AEM team focused assistance through consultations and training at no-cost.
