Tiffen Filter Comparison (SoftFX, ProMist, Black Diffusion, Black Warm Diffusion)
Shot on the BPMCC4K in BM RAW 5:1 and edited and colored in DaVinci Resolve to compare the various optical characteristics of four subtle filters from Tiffen. I looked at the ProMist, SoftFX, Black Diffusion and Warn Black Diffusion filters side by side with specific focus on skin tonality and highlight falloff.
Here are the specific filters used:
77mm Black Diffusion F/X 1/2 Filter
77mm Warm Black Diffusion F/X 1/4 Filter
77mm Black Pro Mist 1/2 Filter
77mm Soft F/X 1 Filter

I personally like the looks of the SoftFX and Black Diffusion. Was hoping that the ProMist would have looked my magical but alas it felt rather flat. I will do more tests with more extensive color grading to refine my looks with these filters from Tiffen.
