Usually, Krishna was very fond of butter and curd. He used to move from home to home stealthily taking hold of the curd and butter pots and eating away the milk products kept in store by the natives of Gokul where he was reared from his childhood. Enamoured by his divine beauty and awesome powers, the village children used to deem him their master and keep moving with him.
In one of the most favourite sports, Krishna used to form a human pyramid to reach out the curd pots stored high and break them to share the contents with all his friends.
Dahi Handi is an interesting sport or contest organized during Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. As part of this event, in a tall place preferably on top of a long standing pole, a pot of curd is tied. Groups of participants compete in the event to reach out the pot by forming a human pyramid and breaking it.
