Stevan Marković (Stevan Markovic) - bodyguard of the French film actor Alain Delon. Killed by unknown persons, the case has not been solved.
In the 1950s, Stevan Markovic and his friend Milos Milosevic were involved in street fights in Belgrade. When they met Alain Delon, who was filming one of his films in Yugoslavia at that time, Delon invited Milos and Stevan to his work. Stevan became Delon's bodyguard, and also became friends with the local petty bandit Nikola Milinkovich, at whose funeral he attended. Thanks to Delon's help, he met many of the French elite. There were rumors that Markovic was involved in prostitution.
In 1968, the body of Stevan Markovich was found in a landfill near Paris. The killers and customers were not identified, but many accused Alain Delon of this: in one of his letters to his brother Alexander Stevan wrote that he was threatened not only by Delon himself, but also by the godfather of the Corsican mafia Francois Marcantoni. After several candid photographs were found among Markovich's personal belongings with a woman who outwardly resembled Claude Pompidou, the wife of French President Georges Pompidou, a scandal erupted: Georges Pompidou was accused of attempted murder.
