For a year and a half I drove past this monument every day. Commuting from point A to point B, I really never paid it much mind. One day as I often did, I decided to take a walk with my camera. Mind Blown! The Monument to Six Million Jewish Martyrs by the late sculptor Nathan Rappaport is the center piece. In addition, there are 6 pillars. Each mentions a key event of the Holocaust to contrast with a different democratic value. Train tracks that once led to the Treblinka concentration camp are embedded in the pavement. This was a very moving experience. In the words of Sarah Meller, a Holocaust survivor who attended the opening in 2018, “People should know what happened, and it should never happen again,”
