With strict privacy laws now in place in Europe and in other places such as California in the US, it's important to include some kind of cookie pop up banner on your website.
The pop up should inform visitors that you are using cookies and most importantly, get their acceptance for you to do so.
Wix includes a cookie pop up banner as part of every website, free of charge. You just need to activate it and customize it to suit your needs.
Step 1. Log into your Wix account
Step 2. Go to the Dashboard for your website.
Step 3. Make sure your site is published
Step 4. Click "Settings" from the left-hand menu.
Step 5. Click on "Privacy & Cookies".
Step 6. You should now be on the "Privacy Tools" tab. In the “display a cookie consent banner” section, click the "Get Started" button.
Step 7. To activate the cookies banner on your website, click the button next to "Display Cookie Banner on Site".
Step 8. Customize the text and display settings.
Step 9. Link to your Privacy Policy.
Step 10. Review “Cookie Policy Requirements”.
Step 11. Advanced Options.

Step 11. To Save your cookies pop up, click "Save & Publish".
Wix will confirm that your cookie banner is now published. You won't see it in the Editor or in preview mode, but you can test it by going to your live site.
