#raspberrypi4 #Wi-Fi #DNS, #router
The Raspberry Pi can be used as a wireless access point, running a standalone network. To work as an access point, the Raspberry Pi will need to have access point software installed, along with DHCP server software to provide connecting devices with a network address.
Dnsmasq provides network infrastructure for small networks: DNS, DHCP, router advertisement, and network boot. It is designed to be lightweight and has a small footprint, suitable for resource-constrained routers and firewalls. It has also been widely used for tethering on smartphones and portable hotspots, and to support virtual networking in virtualization frameworks.
