Did you know that numerous cities throughout the world are likely going to be underwater by 2030 and that these include Amsterdam and Venice? Climate change has led to water levels going haywire the whole world over, and scientists are fearing that there are some notable cities that may be totally submerged in water before too long. Some of the many cities that we’ll be taking a look at in this video include the aforementioned Amsterdam and Venice, as well as New Orleans, Bangkok, Savannah, and Miami.

Amsterdam is located in the Netherlands, which is a country that has never been strange to flooding. The name “Netherlands” translates to the “Low Countries”, and the country is decidedly low in relation to sea level. The Dutch people have developed some pretty reliable methods for warding off floods over the years, but they’re going to have their work cut out for them if they wish to stay above sea level in the coming years. Venice, Italy, is another city that is liable to find itself underwater by the time 2030 occurs.
New Orleans, Savannah, and Miami are three American cities that are liable to be submerged underwater by the end of the decade. New Orleans has dealt with a major water-centric disaster previously, but the effects of 2005’s Hurricane Katrina are likely going to be nothing compared to the city going fully underwater by 2030. Savannah, Georgia, is another American city that is destined to end up under the water. Giant bodies of water neighbor both New Orleans and Savannah. Meanwhile, the ocean itself neighbors Miami.
